Quality Control (QC) Technician - Beverage ; San Bernardino, CA. Temp-to-hire Salary: $DOE Shift: Must be open to all shifts; 1st shift; 6am - 2:30 pm 2nd shift; 2pm - 10:30 pm 3rd shift; 10pm - 6:30 am Summary: The role is responsible for the full testing of soft drinks, raw materials and packaging; ensuring full quality control and compliance to company and regulatory requirements. The role is specific to the analysis of soft drinks through wet chemistry, microbiological testing (aseptic techniques), equipment calibrations, statistical process control, effluent / water sampling, and documentation control. Responsibilities: Responsible for QC tests of incoming raw materials, goods in progress, finished goods and packaging, with appropriate reaction to any out of specification situations. Test raw materials to approve or reject new vendors, prepare samples for sales presentations, taste panels, and visitors. Retrieval of samples, testing and analysis and documentation of results. Interface with production management teams where appropriate. Responsible for plant sanitation program effectiveness, tracking, follow-up and report documentation. Coordinate efficient production line start-ups and change-overs of process equipment. Review daily process and packaging records. Initiate corrective action for out of compliance situations, including QC holds and defective material reporting. Carry out Line audits ensuring that GMP's are being followed and adhered to. Collect all micro samples for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual samples for inside and outside lab testing. Complete sample analysis to ensure compliance to all Customer and Corporate testing requirements and product specifications. Ensure all Safety Standards (Company or Regulatory) are met at all times Ensure all Company Good Manufacturing Standards are met at all times Cleaning and Sanitation of production lines following the appropriate process as determined by flavor characteristics and the clean in process (CIP) matrix. Implement and facilitate the facilities food safety and food quality programs to assure compliance and achieve desired results. Stewards of Process Improvement or continuous improvement activities Qualifications: HS Diploma minimum. Approximately 2 years in a fast-moving packaged goods environment; Beverage experience preferred. Knowledge of health and safety, hygiene rules and regulations. Formal training in areas such as GMP, HACCP, Hygiene etc. Ability to prioritize and multi-task Understanding of factory / production machinery - awareness of technical issues. Microbiological experience Demonstrates personal initiative to aid the development of the site / dept. Water Treatment theory and process (conventional treatment, UF, Nano, RO filtration Experience in performing quality checks (e.g. visual checks through to detailed analysis of product specifications).
