Job Description:

Position Summary:Responsible for the case management and therapy provided to the cases assigned to their care. Also oversees, with the Unit Supervisor, all clinical services provided by the Unit Treatment Team.This position does not have direct reports.Essential Functions---In conjunction with the treatment team, develops timely, individualized, comprehensive Master Treatment Plans for all cases assigned, in accordance with policies and procedures. Completes reviews of Master Treatment Plans on a regular basis.---Develops and maintains professional working relationships with all necessary community agencies and services in order to fully implement the Treatment Plan.---Access and coordinate all clinical services available in order to fully implement the Treatment Plan.---Communicates clearly and regularly in both written and oral forms to the treatment team regarding pertinent case material, special therapeutic needs, family relationships, etc.---Provides advocacy and clinical insight on assigned cases in all staffing or meetings pertaining to each case; such as Treatment Planning meetings, IEP meetings, Administrative Case Reviews and Team Meetings.---Completes timely documentation in the Clinical Record of all services rendered in accordance with policies and procedures---Completes timely, comprehensive psycho-social assessments which provide pertinent clinical information and evaluation to the treatment team.---Provides individual, family, group therapy and Parent Outreach services in accordance with each individualized treatment plan and as assigned by the Clinical Director.---Conducts all assigned duties in a professional, ethical manner which protects the rights and dignity of all individuals assigned to their caseload.---Responds to all community requests for information (Release of Information, court appearances, etc.) in a timely, professional and confidential manner.---Provides consultation to the Intake Coordinator for evaluation of new placements and communicates discharges in a timely fashion.---Actively creates and maintains discharge plans that are reviewed and revised as needed to insure that the client is served in the least restrictive environment possible.---Provides training and in-service education to other departments/employees as assigned by the Clinical Director.---Provides on-going supervision of student interns under the direction of the Clinical Director, in accordance with policies and procedures.---Completes or makes arrangements for the completion of assessment tools to assist in the diagnostic formulation of each resident assigned to caseload.---Provides routine and on-going consultation, education and oversight of the treatment team to insure proper implementation of each child's individualized Treatment Plan.RequirementsEducation/Experience/Knowledge/Understanding---Master's degree (M.A.) in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work or a related Mental Health field, which qualifies the applicant for an LCSW/MFT ---Minimum six months experience in a mental health setting with children and families.Skills---Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills to include communicating clearly, effectively, tactfully, and patiently to a diverse population---Excellent public speaking and presentation skills---Excellent interpersonal skills and demeanor with the ability to build rapport and garner trust with others---Strong attention to detail, organizational, planning and time management skills---Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and ExcelAbilities---Ability to understand and solve problems by applying intermediate analytical skills to include collecting all the relevant information and data needed to address the problem; organizing, classifying and synthesizing the data into fundamental issues; from the information, identifying the most probable causes of the problem; reducing the information down into manageable components; identifying the logical outcomes from the analyses of the data collected; and, identifying the options and solutions for addressing the problems analyzed. Ability to lead, independently and collaboratively as part of a team---Ability and willingness to carry out the Childhelp mission and realize the Founders' vision by embodying the cultural values and performance principals of Acting with Honor and Character; Being Open & Receptive; Caring About & Relating to Others; Nurturing Diverse Relationships; Performance Excellence, and Inspirational Leading & ManagingPhysical Demands---Ability to frequently see, hear, speak, and be physically flexible; occasionally sit, stand, walk, bend, run and drive; seldom stoop, climb carry, squat, kneel, push; and lift up to 30 lbs.---Ability to withstand moderate noise levelsPreferred:---Licensed Clinical Social Worker or MFT in the State of California with one-year experience with children and families---One year experience working in an in-patient or residential setting.
