Payroll Supervisor

Job Description:

This associate will be responsible for supervising the organization’s payroll function. This role also contributes to the organization’s payroll policies and procedures while partnering with other departments and external vendors. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervises payroll processes, accurate and timely pay to employees – through supervision of Analysts, Specialist and Coordinators, ensures the organization’s payroll workstreams are optimal and efficient.  Oversees timely and accurate data collection and calculation, system uploads, issuance of paychecks and electronic transfers. 
  • Conducts payroll reporting - creates and monitors pre- and post-payroll reports for internal and external review; formats files for consistency; audits daily reports and provide findings to management.  Creates and maintains supporting databases
  • Serves as system administrator - Monitors, creates, and corrects all internal system related functionality and partners with external team on organization level projects. Builds relationships with Finance and HRIS teams to effectively communicate planning process and assist in plan preparation
  • Performs payroll research and analysis - conducts internal research and analysis on more complex payroll programs. Creates reports and approach to analysis, shares and presents findings
  • Supervises team – partners with Payroll Manager to monitor staff assignments to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.  Look for opportunities for training and overall development of department associates.
  • Ensures integrity and compliance for all payroll processes and procedures.  Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.   Audits payroll results, ensuring legislative compliance and internal reporting requirements.  Ensures SOX compliance for all processes and procedures

Qualifications:

  •  3+ years relevant experience
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and department’s Payroll/Accounting/Financial Systems
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and accounting, including process, procedures, internal controls, and financial statements
  • Employee management skills, including developing, training and coaching employees
  • Planning and resourcing skills – optimizes resources and workflow
  • Workday HCM system a plus
  • Reflexis WFM system a plus
  • ADP Added Value Service systems a plus
