The Lead Customer Quality Specialist focuses on projects / process improvement to ensure that processes and products are designed with appropriate quality measurement systems. In this role you will minimize risk of poor quality. (eg-Master Black Belt and Black Belt) which will require mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge, developed and strong foundation of Quality systems and knowledge of relevant technologies.


Drive root-cause identification using 5Y analysis

Manage non-conformance

Monitor customer satisfaction

Own preventive and corrective actions

Develop new solutions under guidance and / or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations

Work together with business leadership at SPB and EB level

Specify needs, communicates about project approach and presents outcomes of research done

Deliver products as part of a team

Work on cross functional teams

Lead analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.

In addition you will

  • You will receive a company cell phone and be expected to answer 24-7 unless you have made arrangements for coverage.
  • The job duties will be primarily a 5 day job, ut work schedule will be based on shop need for its 24X7 coverage. Example Sunday- Thursday
  • As part of there duties they may need to work a flexible schedule in relation to training and auditing.
  • Level 2 certification within 2 years of taking the roll if not already certified. (this may flex based on Covid Restrictions
  • Travel may be required to perform annual audits on account or to visit suppliers.
  • Start time will be reflected in shops morning turnover and prior prep required.


Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in Quality

Minimum of 3 additional years of experience as a customer liaison

Minimum of 3 years of locomotive / shop operations experience

Demonstrated team player ability

Strong oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Ability to influence others and lead small teams

Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact

Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously

Effective problem identification and solution skills

Proven analytical and organizational ability
