Anticipated Hiring Range: $70,896.00 - $72,000.00 Annually

Department Summary The Office of the Academic Scheduling works in
partnership with the colleges and departments to facilitate
scheduling of academic classes. Standard policies and guidelines
are followed to optimally utilize classrooms and provide a
consistent registration experience for students. The primary goal
of the Office of Academic Scheduling is to ensure the efficient and
effective use of campus space and facilities, develop and maintain
the Schedule of Classes, maintain key databases and provide timely
and accurate event information to the campus and the broader
community when applicable.

Typical Activities Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Deputy Provost and Vice Provost of
Academic Programs, the Administrative Analyst Specialist III will
serve as the lead/manager/administrator/subject matter expert for
operations of the scheduling unit of the Academic Curriculum and
Scheduling Office. Responsibilities include management of staff and
functions related to university class scheduling and production of
the Class Schedule. Requires the ability to understand the
functions of the Academic Scheduling unit and other university-wide
programs and divisions while providing support, leadership, and
supervision of the Academic Curriculum and Scheduling staff -
including but not limited to assignment and review work for
completion and accuracy; identification of staff training needs;
completion of periodical performance evaluations. Responsible for
the development and implementation of policies, procedures,
timeline/deadlines/production schedules. Responsible for the
management of course fee, class section, and faculty inventory
files. In collaboration with colleges, departments, and other
academic units, design, assist, and supervise procedures for
schedule production and maintenance each academic term. Work with
administrators, faculty, and support staff to coordinate long-range
and term-specific support operations in meeting the changing needs
of the university over time. Develop and implement data management
modules used in planning schedules and meeting campus deadlines for
data collections, analysis, and reporting. Provide campus-wide ad
hoc reports, for specific needs including schedule, curriculum, and
enrollment data using established and ad-hoc reporting processes.
Typical duties include, but are not limited to :
- Administration of the Curriculum Management component of the
CMS/PeopleSoft Student Information System.
- Provide training, support, supervision, validation and analysis
of PeopleSoft/Oracle operations and effectiveness among various
administrative and academic units.
- Work in collaboration with with Records, Registration, and
Evaluations; Admissions, Students Financials, and campus technical
support teams in the resolution of issues and the ongoing
development and administrations of policies and procedures as
- Consult with university administration, colleges, and
departments on assessing needs and internal procedures relating to
PeopleSoft/Oracle functionality as it affects all academic,
administrative, technical, and university support areas.
- Management of functions related to university class scheduling
and production of the Class Schedule.
- Work with administrators, faculty, and support staff to
coordinate long-range and term-specific support operations in
meeting the changing needs of the university over time.
- Production of the annual Bulletin of Courses.
- Responsible for data administration across academic departments
within Academic Affairs and university committees concerning the
course catalog and curriculum proposals, processing and
Education and Experience
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Organization, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and knowledge of
- 2 years of experience as an AA/S in CSU system.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
