Job DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate II with strong computational skills and a keen interest in medicine and translational research for breast cancer. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects involving RNA sequencing (bulk and single-cell), spatial transcriptomics, and other omics data types. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in data science or bioinformatics, and a passion for advancing biomedical research through computational approaches.Working under direct supervision, the Research Associate II performs routine and increasingly complex laboratory tasks and procedures and develops technical expertise in one or more areas relevant to research projects. The Research Associate II will participate in research activities involving all aspects of the research process, to include, but not limited to; investigation, technical, testing/validation of results, and report findings. The Associate will perform a variety of routine experimental protocols and procedures to support the objectives of laboratory research projects. The Associate will observe and comply with safety standards and procedures, assist in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings, and assist in general laboratory maintenance. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:

• Perform RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq data processing and analysis
• Conduct spatial transcriptomics and spatial biology analysis using R or Python-based tools (e.g., Deepcell, Scanpy, Squidpy)
• Develop and maintain reproducible analysis pipelines
• Collaborate with wet-lab scientists, biostatisticians, and clinicians to interpret data
• Visualize and communicate results through figures, presentations, and written reports
• Contribute to manuscripts, grant applications, and scientific meetings
• Performs a variety of increasingly complex experimental protocols and procedures and assist in the design of new complex or unusual protocols and techniques.
• Keeps accurate and detailed records of experiments and results, and assist in identifying and troubleshooting of unexpected results.
• Orders laboratory supplies and supports laboratory operations.
• Maintains lab equipment and related records and may coordinate use of lab equipment.
• Assists in the operation of specialized equipment, as required by the area of research.
• Assists in preparation of data for publication and/or presentation at scholarly meetings.
• Observes and complies with safety standards and procedures.
• Orients research laboratory assistants or lower level research associates and undergraduate student researchers on day-to-day lab operations and routine procedures. -Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.   QualificationsQualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, computer science, or a related field
  • 1 year of research laboratory experience required.
  • Proficiency in R and/or Python
  • Experience with NGS data analysis, particularly RNA-seq
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamPreferred Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in a related field
    • Experience with single-cell and spatial omics data analysis
