JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: PROVIDER - ADVANCED PRACTICEDepartment: Clinic OperationsReports to: Chief Operating Officer and Medical DirectorDate Written: Rev. 09/2021Job Status: Regular Full Time / ExemptJob Summary: Responsible for and oversees the overall medical services and systems for one or more PDI clinics.Job Duties & Responsibilities

    • Sees patients as needed and necessary
      • Supports actively the marketing plans and strategy development plans, to growing the reputation of the clinic, brand, and growth of patient volume
        • Evaluates patient through questions, examinations, symptom review, and medical testing
          • Examines patient skin for abnormalities or malignancies
            • Requests and performs biopsies, sample tissue collections, or other tests as needed.
              • Analyzes patient test results
                • Counsels and educates patients on hygiene, diet, and disease prevention
                  • Performs cosmetic procedures such as neuromodulators, fillers or microdermabrasion
                    • Sets patient goals and discusses treatment plan
                      • Establishes timelines, tasks, and medical needs of patients
                        • Develops treatment plans for medications or skin therapy, to helping patients reach their goals
                          • Prescribes medications, hormonal agents, or topical treatments, and monitor patient intake
                            • Recommends surgeons or other further treatments for advanced skin diseases or cancer
                              • Ensures the highest degree of patient satisfaction
                                • Consults with surgeons on patient procedures
                                  • Documents patient records and progress including symptoms, medications, and treatments
                                    • Participates actively in the development and growth of provider referral relationships
                                      • Consults with medical staff to ensure compliance with standards and regulations, delivering superior patient care
                                        • Represents PDI clinics at public and professional meetings and conferences
                                          • Conducts self in a professional manner at all times
                                            • Collaborates with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans
                                              • Maintains the highest standards of quality care
                                                • Maximizes efficiency and productivity through extensive process analysis and interdepartmental collaboration
                                                  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications, attend seminars, conferences, and continuing education courses
                                                    • Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, providers patients, industry, and community
                                                      • Maintains a clean driving record, a valid drivers license, and evidence of valid auto insurance

                                                            • Demonstrates professional knowledge of etiologies, risk factors, pathophysiology, presentation and epidemiology of medical conditions
                                                              • Demonstrates a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses
                                                                • Demonstrates proficiency in procedural skills pertinent to practice area
                                                                  • Demonstrates an advanced level of medical/nursing clinical knowledge, communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism and systems-based practice
                                                                    • Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice
                                                                      • Knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities manages general medical and surgical conditions
                                                                        • Knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles, including finance, customer service, patient care, work-flow production, payer contracting, provider relations and employee management
                                                                          • Manual dexterity and an eye for detail
                                                                            • Ability to perform meticulous dermatological procedures including, but not limited to, biopsies, incisions, shave removals, punch biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, excision repairs, ED&C, injections and suturing
                                                                              • Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity for provider and staff satisfaction
                                                                                • Ability to streamline and assist with the implementation of new structures and roles that create speed, efficiency, and support rapidly shifting business demands
                                                                                  • Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines
                                                                                    • Proficiency using necessary medical equipment
                                                                                      • Ability to follow ethical principles regarding patient confidentiality, note writing, informed consent and unanticipated adverse outcomes
                                                                                        • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
                                                                                          • Communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and co-workers, incorporating the entire person and their background
                                                                                            • Synthesizes and analyzes collected data
                                                                                              • Uses facility resources appropriately and avoids wasteful practices

                                                                                                                                      • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality as appropriate
                                                                                                                                        • Proficient in the Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, Internet and email use
                                                                                                                                          • Regular, timely attendanceEducation & Certifications
                                                                                                                                            • Nurse Practitioner - Masters Degree from accredited Nursing Programor
                                                                                                                                              • Physician Assistant - Masters Degree from accredited PA Program
                                                                                                                                                • Board-Certified in Dermatology or board eligible
                                                                                                                                                  • Minimum of 2-3 years general medical Dermatology experience preferred
                                                                                                                                                    • Experience using EMR system (EMA by Modernizing Medicine) preferred
                                                                                                                                                      • Experience and active knowledge working with insurance practices including, but not limited to, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid and Capitated guidelines preferred
                                                                                                                                                        • Experienced working in a high-volume environment (35 to 40 patients per day)
                                                                                                                                                          • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Windows OS
                                                                                                                                                            • Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes and procedures
                                                                                                                                                              • Advanced understanding of HIPAA rules and regulations
                                                                                                                                                                • Active California Medical License for the appropriate board
                                                                                                                                                                  • Current California DEA license
