technology. JOB SUMMARY: Emergency Power Technicians travel to
customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test,
troubleshoot, perform start-up and collect data of low voltage (60V
to 600V) electrical systems. Technician shall complete automatic
transfer switch servicing and troubleshooting along with low
voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing. Must have practical
knowledge and experience in using electrical test equipment to
complete assigned job tasks. Rotate emergency on-call duty and if
called respond to customer emergencies in a timely manner. Perform
all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and
procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein
the company operates. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Ø
Implement procedures and tasks as provided by foreman, manager,
director, or project manager. Ø Must be able to drive daily
locally/regionally and be available for periodic overnight travel.
Ø Complete assigned tasks in a safe and workmanlike manner. Ø Set
and continually manage project expectations with team members and
other senior management. Ø Comprehend and utilize software and
applications used in field operations. Ø Be on the On-Call schedule
on a rotating basis. Ø Must be available for occasional in and out
of state jobs and training courses. Ø Complete and deliver reports,
proposals, and required documentation. Ø Regular attendance and
timeliness. Ø Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements:
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES: Ø
Familiar with the Electrical industry standards and codes Ø Prior
experience in the installation and maintenance of electrical
equipment and supporting structures. Ø Demonstrative ability to
translate and understand simple and complex electrical drawings and
schematics. Ø Knowledge of ATS, Switchgear, UPS, GFCI, and other
critical/emergency power system equipment. Ø Must be familiar with
electrical test equipment such as multimeters, IR Cams, load
monitors, etc. Ø Experience utilizing power tools (saws, crimpers,
drills, etc.) safely on construction and operational work sites. Ø
Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented,
collaborative environment is essential. Ø Can conform to shifting
priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and
problem-solving capabilities. Ø Must have good PC skills including
email, internet, data entry and Microsoft Excel; experience with
various electrical system programs a plus. Ø Must have a valid
driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good
driving record. Ø Must be willing to work flexible hours and
overtime, and occasional weekends, holidays, and nights. Ø Must be
able to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.
Ø Prefer OSHA 10 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED
training. Ø Be able to react to project adjustments and alterations
promptly and efficiently. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND / OR LICENSES:
Ø Prefer an Associate's degree from an accredited 2 year technical
college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), an EE Degree from an
ABET accredited college, or similar experience and training from
the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power
Production, or NAVY Seabee). Ø High school diploma or equivalent
experience required. Ø 3-5 years commercial Field Technician
experience within the electrical industry or similar. Ø Manufacture
ATS, PLC, UPS, and other equipment certifications a plus.
